Juan Gallastegui
Executive Director

Juan Gallastegui is a seasoned musician, conductor, and administrator, boasting over twenty-five years of experience in the music industry. Beginning his career as a musician, he honed his skills performing in wind ensembles in Spain. Upon relocating to the US, he dedicated eight years to teaching and conducting various organizations in the Washington DC/MD area, overseeing significant productions with symphony orchestras and symphonic bands. In his administrative roles, Gallastegui has held leadership positions in multiple organizations across Europe and the US.

Tricia Soriano
Communications Manager

Tricia has lived all over the US and held many different jobs after graduating from UW-Milwaukee with a BA in English. She also has certificates in Advertising and Marketing from UCLA and Publishing from Emerson College in Boston. In her spare time, she enjoys thrifting, crafting, reading, writing, travel, attending plays, and visiting museums. She sings with her church choir and has played clarinet in a past life. She is married with two teenagers and two cats.

Tames Alan
Production Manager

Tames has been working both sides of the curtain since 1976. She studied theater and history at Willamette University in Oregon and theater at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco and the Dell Arte School in California. In 1986, she began touring her Living History Lectures programs throughout the United States and Canada, where she is known for in-depth research and a lively presentational style. In 2012 she found her way backstage to work as a stage and production manager for the symphony. More recently she combined her love of history and working with the symphony to create Classic Collaborations. These programs give the audience an immersive experience of an era through music, fashion, and culture.

Brianne Perron
Music Librarian/Social Media Coordinator

Brianne is a Kitsap County native who has been involved in the music and theater scenes here since she was very young. She is married and has two young children who have been her unofficial "library assistants" since they were born. She has a homestead in Bremerton where she gardens and raises chickens for eggs. She sells extra eggs, produce, and cut flower bouquets from her self-serve farmstand. Every once in a while, you'll see her on stage as a percussionist with the orchestra.

Alan Futterman
Music Director

 Alan is the Music Director of the Bremerton WestSound Symphony and the Academy Chamber Orchestra. He served on the Music Faculty of Central Washington University for 10 years and as Music Director of the Dover Symphony Orchestra, Principal Conductor for the Weierstrass Society Concerts of Contemporary Music (New York, N.Y.), Music Director of the Zaccho Ballet Orchestra (Belgium), and Conductor in Residence for Jeunesse Musicale of Europe.
Mr. Futterman holds a Master’s degree from the Juilliard School of Music with two years of Doctoral studies in Musicology and Baroque Performance Practice. As a Doctoral candidate, he served as Assistant Conductor to Maestro Vladimir Kin of St. Petersburg and participated in master classes with Sir George Solti and Leonard Bernstein.

Gary Dahl
Associate Conductor & Personnel Manager

Gary Dahl, originally from Montana, is a resident of Silverdale and teaches music in the Central Kitsap School District. He serves as associate conductor and personnel manager of the Bremerton WestSound Symphony, principal timpanist of the WestSound Symphony and Port Angeles Symphony, and conductor of Kitsap Opera.
Dahl holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education from Pacific Lutheran University and a Master of Music in Conducting from Western Washington University. He studied conducting with Gunther Schuller, Jerry Kracht, David Wallace and Bruce Pullan; and timpani with Michael Crusoe and Salvatore Rabbio.

LeeAnne Campos
Chorale Director

LeeAnne Campos began her professional music career at the age of seven in Munich, Germany, playing the role of a Siamese boy in a production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s The King and I.
A past regional finalist in the Metropolitan Opera Council Auditions and the San Francisco Merola Opera Program Auditions, her repertoire included the roles of Despina in Cosi fan tutte, Mimi in La Boheme, and Nedda in I Pagliacci. An apprenticeship with the Chicago Lyric Opera Center for American Artists took her to Chicago in 1983. She was an active participant in the Chicago opera community, performing leading roles with the Chamber Opera of Chicago and Light Opera Works among others. She was a member of both the Chicago Lyric Opera Chorus and the Chicago Symphony Chorus under the direction of Margaret Hillis, and a recipient of the Margaret Hillis Fellowship.

Derick Polk
Youth Jazz Director

Derick Polk grew up on the south side of Chicago, Illinois, and attended two universities in the city: DePaul University, where he earned a degree in music theory, and Northwestern Illinois University, where he earned his degree in music education.
His military career took him out of Chicago and allowed him to explore other parts of the world, such as Italy and Japan, and gave him further opportunities for performance and conducting.
Derick plays tuba in addition to bass, and listens to a wide range of music, including rock, jazz, hip hop, country, and classical. The two most influential musicians in his life are Von Freeman and Fred Anderson, both Chicago jazz legends.
